AKG K 340

$120.00 Released November, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:AKG is a well established audio company that makes audiophile-quality headphones. Includes three sizes of silicone tips to aid in finding the best fit / seal. Includes carrying case.

The Cons:AKGs first attempt at an in-ear model. Uncomfortable. Extremely thin cables - presents quality and durability issues.

The AKG K 340 is a pair of stereo in-canal bud headphones that can be used with a home stereo system, portable CD/DVD/MP3 player, or any other A/V player. It features over-sized earpieces that exert too much pressure on the ear, despite having three silicone ear tip sizes to choose from.

Where to Buy

In fact, both the silicone tips AND the cable wires were cheaply composed, which is an immediate point off towards durability. Signature to the 340 though is its inline volume slider, sturdy carrying case, and reinforced housing — which helps protect the plug from damage. Overall, the AKG K 340 performs well with high-end details, but is choppy in regards to bass, unstable in build, and lacking in comfort.
