Released July, 2009
The Pros:90% outside noise reduction. Embedded battery powered QuietPoint system with on/off switch. Detachable cable with extra extension cable.
The Cons:Significant sound leakage.
The Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7b are a top of the line pair of large over-ear active noise cancelling headphones which employ battery powered noise reduction. Patented QuietPoint technology is embedded inside the headphone and uses an on/off switch, although they may be used just as well without noise reduction when the battery runs out.

The closed back over-ear design completely covers the ear while keeping inside noise in and outside noise out, and they can also be folded flat for storage and travel. Large-aperture 40 mm drivers with neodymium magnet systems provide powerful bass, extended treble and high fidelity, and the cable connecting to the headphone is detachable and comes with an extra 1 m extension cable, travel pouch and 1/4" stereo adapter. The ANC7b also offers the highest frequency response and sensitivity in the series, edging out the more compact on-ear ATH-ANC1, and are also compatible with iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, in-flight entertainment systems, laptops and portable CD, DVD and MP3 players.
