Audio Technica ATH-EW9
$200.00
Released November, 2007
The Pros:Stunning wood enclosures. Interesting/stylish design. Comfortable, especially for clipons.
The Cons:Open design makes them a poor choice for using anywhere loud. Poor soundstage. Sound does not compare to full size headphones.
The Audio Technica ATH-EW9 is an adjustable, wooden clip-on headphone constructed out of “Japan’s finest Hokkaido cherry.” A more affordable competitor to the ATH-ESW9A, the ATH-EW9 supporters a lower maximum input power of 100 mW (versus 1000 mW) and inferior impedance of 29 ohms (versus 42 ohms).
