JVC HA-F240
$15.00
Released January, 2009
The Pros:Available in a wide variety of colours in order to suit all tastes. A step up from stock earbuds in terms of sound quality. Decent performance for the price--sound quality is passable, earbuds offer some sound isolation.
The Cons:Poor warranty compared to other entry-level headphones (warranties usually range from a year to lifetime in some rare cases). The fit is a bit too tight for some, may hurt the ears after a while.
The JVC HA-F240 are a pair of ear-bud headphones outfitted with soft silicon air cushions that change shape to form to the contours of the wearer’s ear, ensuring that the ear buds fit securely and comfortably.

The second of five JVC HA headphones, the JVC HA-F240 is a direct upgrade from the JVC HA-F140 in that it offers a large 11mm Neodymium driver unit, not to mention a 3.3’ friction-noise reduction cord equipped with an iPhone/iPod compatible gold-plated plug. In all other ways, however, the HA-F240 is practically a duplicate of its downgraded peer. For instance, the HA-F240 is also available in white (Gumy), silver (MarshMallow) black, blue, purple, green, yellow, orange, red, and pink, which just happen to coordinate well with JVC’s new expanded iPod Nano and Shuffle digital music players. The JVC HA-F240 retails for a slightly more expensive $14.95 (versus $9.95) and comes with a 90 day limited warranty.
