Sony DR-BT101

$60.00 Released January, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Sound quality is adequate for most purposes. Battery life is fairly long, can last through two days worth of use. Built-in controls for play, pause, track seek.

The Cons:Too cumbersome for running or other exercise. Not up to audiophile standards, don't have the bass support or clean high range that some are looking for. Headband is large and makes the headphones top-heavy, can tip the headphones off the head if looking down.

Sony's DR-BT101 headphones are a mid-range set that focuses on being lightweight and convenient. They are cordless and use Bluetooth technology to communicate with compatible music players or mobile phones, and include a built-in microphone with noise suppressing and echo canceling, which enhance call clarity.

The headphones also have built-in controls (play, pause, skip) that work with compatible media devices. The DR-BT101 set charges via a USB cable. The speakers use 30mm cup drivers, and achieve a frequency response range of 14 - 24000 Hz. A fully charged battery yields about 11 hours of continuous music playback, though it can last as long as 100 hours in standby or communication (cell phone) mode.
