Tritton Audio Xtreme 360 (TRI-GA600)
$129.00
Released June, 2006
The Pros:Good sound quality. Long cables.
The Cons:Mic wire gets easily broken. Not the best looking.
The Tritton Audio Xtreme 360 puts a fully capable 5.1 surround sound system inside the two ear pieces of the AX360 headset. The AX360 is one of the only headsets available that is THX certified for both 2.1 stereo and 5.1 surround sound.

Targeted towards gamers, the AX360 includes an audio controller base station that connects to a game console, or other audio outputting equipment, either through a fiber optic or coaxial cable link. The bast station then connects to the headphones (up to two are simultaneously supported) which delivers the sound to each of the eight speakers, 4 in each ear. The base station contains various dials for controlling multiple aspects of the audio output such as center channel delay, and base output.
A detachable microphone is included which is Xbox Live compatible, or useful for PC chat in games and VOIP. Tritton claims the headset is compatible with all of the major consoles including the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
